Mystery of Christmas 2011 (backstage)

Our family just finished performing in Dramatic Truth School of the Arts annual Christmas ballet, The Mystery of Christmas.  It was three months of rehearsals, three days of intense rehearsals at the theater and three days of shows! Lots of energy, loads of fun, now we are pooped! Matt and I are amazed every year at the teachers/directors, the young men and women, parents, families, and others who help to usher in the Holy Spirit and spread the word of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Liz Dimmel and Anita York, you and your family are truly wonderful.

Ready, Set, Cut!

This was just the best face and every time that I watch the last part of the video, it just cracks me up! 

Perez is in Kansas City, MO

We were so fortunate to have the Perez family come and visit us for Thanksgiving.  It was nice to have coffee, cook, shop, and relax with Karlene.  Elisa had a blast with Kahiau.  They were like long lost siblings.  No fighting, just a lot of laughing and silliness.  Then of course there is Rick who is just... well... Rick.  He had meetings set up, he was in briefing rooms, he was praying from the mic, and buying Christmas gifts for the needy.  I love spending time with them!!!

 Here are Elisa and Kahiau in the car talking to each other.  They would say the darnedest things!  And they wouldn't stop laughing.  It was quite funny.  Below, they are praying together so that they can eat.  Good friend!!

FYI:  Elisa has the best laugh!

 We didn't get to take Kar fishing because it got too cold here, but we did go to Legends of Asia.  This is my husbands first of many plates!  He likes to make his plate very nice and neat.

We also got to spend time with Daniel and Levi Lim. 

Mahalo Rick, Karlene, and Elisa for visiting and for loving our family with everything you have!!!  We miss you guys and can't wait till we see you again.  We love you!

Thanksgiving 2011 Part 2 & 3

Okay here is part 2 & 3 of our thanksgiving imu.  We really had so much fun.  There was some hard work, but it was all worth it.  God has truly blessed us with great families and friends.  God deserves all our thanks and praise.

Thanksgiving 2011 Part 1

It was a beautiful Thanksgiving Day here in.  The sun came out to give up some much appreciated warm weather.  We had quite a gathering at the house this year and we decided to do an imu in the back yard.  I'm still in the process of editing video.  Here is the first few things.  The first video( if you haven't watched it yet) is how we started the day here at the Skeele home . . . with an imu!!!  The second video was taken right before dinner while all the kids sat down and waited as their parents served them.  Rachel asked them some very important questions about the day and here's what they had to say.  Hope you enjoy and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!  And stay tuned for part 2. . .

"H-A-W-A-I-I"

There are many days when my boys, well Kahiau in particular, will go into the bathroom and find the Halloween make-up, and come out looking like a Warrior or a Native American.  On this day he came out as a Hawaii Warrior. 

Later, he was joined by his brother Kala'i and they decided to be army warriors.  They were so awesome!!!

What's for Dinner?

Today we were invited to eat at our friend's (the Yamamoto's) house for dinner.  Their parents are visiting from Hawaii and it's always nice to hang out with Faye and Howard!!!  So I was making dinner and thought it would be kind of fun to do a video and then blog about it.  So this is what was for dinner tonight and how I made it!  Okay some things you need to know.  "Jimbo" is a place that Matt and I love to eat at in Hawaii on King Street.  It serves lots of different types of udon (Japanese fat rice noodles) and they usually have several sauces on them.  It is great and this is my version of it!  Another note, I didn't fry the noodles because I don't have a huge wok!  so I just tossed the noodles.  I hope you enjoy.  It was fun and Keala helped to do the videos.  Thanks Keala!!!

 Meat-Jun Udon!



It was absolutely fabulous.  So was the rest of the dinner.  Ma Faye made edamame rice, sake chicken, potato salad, tapioca pudding, and bread pudding with Hawaiian sweet bread.  It was Amazing!  And then there was Pepsi and Kauai Coffee!!!  My scale says I've gained 5 pounds!

Good food and good friends ;-)
